The dances we teach

24 dances across 5 families of styles — taught in private lessons, group classes and social practice events alike.

You do not need to know which one you want. Most students arrive with a vague idea and leave their first lesson knowing exactly where to start.

International Standard: Ballroom & Smooth

Elegant frame, smooth travel and the foundation of every ballroom competition.

Waltz

The foundation of ballroom — graceful rise and fall, sweeping turns and elegant 3/4 timing.

Tango

Sharp, dramatic and staccato. The ballroom cousin of Argentine Tango, with sudden pauses and powerful, deliberate steps.

Foxtrot

Smooth and sophisticated travel across the floor, blending long flowing steps with sharp quick ones.

Viennese Waltz

The fast-spinning original waltz — continuous rotation and sweeping lines at a brisk tempo.

Quickstep

Fast, bright and bubbly, full of hops, runs and syncopation — ballroom's most energetic dance.

American Rhythm & International Latin

High energy, expression and sensual rhythm.

Cha Cha

High-energy, flirty and cheeky, with crisp Cuban hip action and quick triple-step footwork.

Rumba

The ultimate dance of romance and passion. Slow, sensual hip movement, long body lines and deep connection with your partner.

Swing

Upbeat, athletic and versatile — from bouncy six-count East Coast Swing to the smooth, slotted West Coast Swing.

Bolero

A breathtaking hybrid of Rumba and Waltz, pairing continuous rise and fall with slow, dramatic Latin hip expression.

Samba

The festive party dance of Brazil, with its distinctive bounce action, swift hip movement and steps that travel around the floor.

Mambo

Spicy, syncopated and sharp. Danced on the "2" beat with fast footwork over lively big-band Afro-Cuban rhythm.

Paso Doble

Spanish bullfight drama on the dance floor. Dancers embody the proud matador and the cape with fiery posture, sharp turns and powerful marches.

Authentic embrace, improvisation and tradition.

Argentine Tango

The authentic dance of walking, connection and subtle lead-and-follow dialogue, fully improvised within an embrace.

Milonga

The fast, rhythmic and playful cousin of Argentine Tango — small crisp steps, quick footwork and upbeat 2/4 timing.

Tango Vals

Flowing, musical and continuously rotational: Argentine Tango technique danced to 3/4 waltz timing.

Salsa

The vibrant, high-energy club dance danced worldwide, full of intricate turn patterns, fast footwork and infectious rhythm.

Bachata

A romantic Dominican rhythm with a smooth hip accent on the fourth beat, spanning traditional, modern and sensual styles.

Merengue

Fun, festive and the easiest dance to learn. Constant marching-style timing and smooth hip motion make it perfect for social parties.

Hustle

Fast-paced, smooth disco-era rotational dancing, full of rapid turns and spins — and it still fits modern pop.

Country Two-Step

The staple of country western dancing. A progressive, fast-moving "quick-quick, slow, slow" rhythm that travels around the floor.

Peabody

A classic American smooth dance — fast, energetic and covering ground quickly with long locks at brisk ragtime tempo.

Country Waltz

A relaxed, progressive 3/4 country dance that sweeps smoothly around the floor with western flair.

Country Swing & Cha Cha

Upbeat western swing with continuous arm turns, paired with grounded country cha cha social patterns.

Nightclub Two-Step

A smooth, romantic social dance made for slow ballads, with a gentle side-to-side flow.
