Kara Lee, in her own words

Nine years ago, I began a journey at Dance Vitality that would transform my life. Starting from the bronze level, my partner, Dmitry Ilyushenov, has coached me through years of technique, musicality, and balance. This year, that dedication brought us to a major milestone; our first year competing in Open Gold.

I live for our dance lessons. They are challenging and rigorous, yet they bring an incomparable joy. For me, dancing is far more than a hobby — it is a lifeline. It provides the essential exercise that supports my mind and body, playing a vital role in managing my rheumatoid arthritis.

Every day, I face severe physical constraints, including a collapsed foot, hammer toes, four dislocated toes, and chronic joint pain from the arthritis. But I refuse to let these limitations define my boundaries. The moment I step onto the floor, my physical burdens fade into pure freedom. Dancing is my ultimate outlet for creativity and happiness, and I feel deeply grateful to have an outstanding partner and a wonderful studio supporting my passion.
